 Iyabo Adetutu OyebamijiMrs Iyabo Adetutu Oyebamiji is one of the leading lights of the nursing profession in Nigeria today.  She is an expert in primary healthcare and an Assistant Director in the Department of Community Health of Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile Ife, Osun State.

She was born in Ile-Ife on January 9, 1961. She had her primary and secondary education at St. Stephens Primary School, Modakeke and Ife Girls High School Ile- Ife respectively. She attended Teachers Training College Ikirun, Osun State between 1978 and 1979.

Iyabo Oyebamiji bagged the qualification of Registered Midwife from School of Midwifery Oluyoro Catholic Hospital, Oke-Offa, Ibadan in 1983. Having attended the School of Nursing, Oshogbo, she obtained the qualification of Registered Nurse (RN) in 1987. She was trained as a community health officer at the School of Hygiene, Eleyele, Ibadan. She holds a Higher National Diploma in Public Health Nursing, a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Education and a Master of Science in Social Work from the University College Hospital, Ibadan, the University of Lagos and Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso respectively.

Mrs Oyebamiji began her career in nursing at Oluyoro Catholic Hospital Apomu, Osun State. She joined the service of Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile Ife as a Senior Nursing Officer and by a dint of hard work and dedication to duty she is today a top ranking officer of the institution. Her proven record of professional accomplishments have made her a much sought after resource person in the enviable world of Nursing Education.

She has handled courses in several aspects and subjects including School Health Service, Child Health/Intergrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI), Adolescents Health and Clinical Science. She has authored  many scholarly publications. She has a good number of research works to her credit including those on Investigation into the Causes of Infertility Among Women of Childbearing Age in Ife Central, Ile-Ife and Knowledge, Attitude and Behavioural Patterns of Adolescents towards HIV/AIDS in Ife Central Local Government Area, Osun State. She has attended and presented papers at several workshops and seminars.

Mrs Iyabo Oyebamiji is a member of the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives (NANNM), the National Association of Public Health Nurses of Nigeria (NAPHNON) and the National Association of Community Health Practitioners (NACHP). She is married to Dr. Emmanuel Oluyimika Oyebamiji and her hobbies include reading, listening to music and dancing.

It was in recognition of her contribution to national development in the field of Nursing that Mrs Iyabo Adetutu Oyebamiji  was conferred with the Woman of Merit Gold Award by PSR Magazine in 2012.
