Mrs. Christie Orkwar is one woman who is worthy of honour anytime and any day. She is a seasoned linguistician, a lecturer, a promoter of human development activities and a distinguished minister of the gospel. She has used her wealth of experience and personal resources to impact positively on the lives of so many people within her immediate environment and beyond. She is currently the President of the Ladies Fellowship of All Nations Evangelism Ministries which is based in Makurdi, Benue State. She is also a lecturer at the Christian Faith Bible Church, Makurdi.
Born on December 6, 1970, Christie attended Government Day Secondary School, Makurdi for her secondary education. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics from Benue State University, Markurdi. In 2005, she bagged the Master of Arts degree in International Relations & Strategic Studies from the same institution. She also holds a certificate from Universite des Sciences Appliquees et Management, Port Novo, Benin Republic as well as a Diploma in French and a Certificate in Computer from Founders Investment. She did her NYSC in 1999.
Her training on the spiritual front began at Christian Faith Bible College where she bagged a Diploma in 1999. However, before this time, she had worked as a Revenue Collector with the Benue State Urban Development Board (1990 – 1992). A notable Christian leader, she has been the President of the Global Initiative for Human Survival which is a branch of the All Nation’s Evangelism Ministries since 2007. She set up the Global Initiative Multi–purpose Co-operative also in 2007. She runs several schemes and programmes which takes care of widows and the elderly. Her other programmes include Spouse Connect which take care of single ladies and young men as well as Quality Child Development which is solely for children and indigent young people.
Her numerous works of charity and commitment to the advancement of the society has fetched her so many awards including the Motherhood Excellence Award by the Peace Makers Organisation, Makurdi and an award by the All Nations Evangelism Ministries Ladies Fellowship.
Mrs. Christie Orkwar is a practicing Christian and is married with children. Her hobbies include reading, sightseeing and jogging. She is an expert in oral and written communication and possesses great creative and interpersonal skills.
